There are some really great techniques used by large music promoters who put on large events.
Great Examples:
Really great promoters will market their events early on with a particular design or art work that is used throughout the promotion of the event. For large music events they might include artwork from the bands album or latest release as this is recognisable and people will see this and know what its advertising right away.
Here is a really great example of this type of marketing. The Arctic Monkeys played a couple of shows at Finsbury Park and as soon as the tickets went on sale the event was marketed with this artwork which matched the artwork of the album that had just come out. This was a really clever marketing scheme as they can promote the album as well as the event and tie it all together with the simple art work.
This artwork appeared on the poster, the ticket and even as the backdrop in the show.

Produce a marketing strategy for a music product that analyses the selling points and target audience.
My marketing strategy for my event will consist of high continuity and consistent posts on social media really promoting the look of the flyer using the same colours to keep everything the same.
I made all my posters look the same so that the pictures were consistent. The headliners logo was also put into the tickets as well as promoted in magazines and online listings.
My target audience were people ranging from 18 year old up wards that are into hardcore/post hardcore and alternative rock music.
I tried to reach out to these people by placing flyers in local venues and pubs where similar styles of music are played. This was a good way to reach these people as I knew that people who would come to a show like mine would probably be at these types on venues and pubs.
I also put flyers at other gigs in college and out for events that were similar to mine and also in the local area to the venue of my event.
Design an imaginative item for music product

For my event I have printed flyers and wristbands as my imaginative way to promote the event.
I really tried my hardest to make sure this was the only flyer that went out for the event although the headline band did create a new Facebook event that didn't consist of the official art work but I was able to post it on myself.
The bands all shared around the flyer on their social networks which really helped to draw a crowd.
Review the success of marketing campaign describe areas of success and areas of improvement.
I think the marketing scheme that I used for my event worked quite well, I think I had a really good look and style about my event that fitted well with the style of event. I think that if my poster and logos could have been in a few more listings and maybe had a little more online presents going the event would have been more of a success than it was.
Overall i think that keeping consistent artwork in my promotion meant that people recognised it when they saw it, I just think that if the artwork had been shared more or placed in more areas around the correct target market then the outcome of the event would have been better.
